In an interview with “Esquire“, the 64-year-old actor shared that he, his wife Amal, and their eight-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella, are living on a farm in France — something he says has been wonderful for the kids.
“You know, we live on a farm in France. I spent much of my childhood on a farm, and as a kid, I hated the idea of it,” he explained. “But now, for them, it’s like they’re off the iPad, you know? They have dinner with adults and have to wash the dishes. Their life is so much better.”
Clooney also admitted he was worried about raising his children in Los Angeles, saying it would be difficult for them to have a normal childhood in a city where paparazzi are everywhere.
“I was worried about raising our kids in Los Angeles, in that Hollywood culture. I felt they’d never get a fair shot at a normal life,” he said. “France… they just don’t really care about fame there. I don’t want my kids walking around worried about paparazzi. I don’t want them compared to someone else’s famous kids,” he concluded.
The couple, who welcomed their twins in June 2017, usually keep their family life private. Recently, during his appearance on the red carpet at the New York Film Festival, Clooney revealed that he takes his kids to school every morning and insists on keeping a structured routine for them.
“I don’t want them thinking we’re too spoiled,” Clooney explained.
