The actor’s family made an appeal on social media asking Norris’ fans not to believe or share fake news related to his death.
Chuck Norris’ family took to social media to debunk false news about his death that has been circulating online.
The action movie star passed away at the age of 86 on March 19 of this year, after a brief hospitalization due to an undisclosed medical emergency.
In a statement published on April 1 in the actor’s Instagram Stories, Norris’ family urged fans not to believe or share fake news related to his death.

“We are aware that since Chuck’s passing, several AI-generated videos and posts have been circulating online containing false and misleading information about the circumstances of his death, his health history, and who was present,” the family wrote in the post.
“These claims are completely false. This includes fabricated reports about previous medical issues, as well as false narratives about family relationships,” they continued. “We kindly ask that you do not believe or share any information unless it comes directly from the Norris family or an official representative.”
Among the AI-generated posts was an image widely shared online showing Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jackie Chan, Bruce Willis, and Mel Gibson standing in front of a coffin draped with the American flag at Norris’ supposed funeral.
Norris is survived by five children and his wife, Gena O’Kelley. The family confirmed his death in a statement posted on Instagram on March 20; “It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning. While we wish to keep the circumstances private, please know he was surrounded by his family and at peace,” they wrote.
“Although our hearts are broken, we are deeply grateful for the life he lived and for the unforgettable moments we were blessed to share with him. The love and support he received from fans around the world meant so much to him, and our family is truly grateful for that. To him, you were not just fans, you were his friends.”
