Jon Stewart condemned the way Donald Trump’s administration handled the killing of Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old nurse who was killed by ICE agents on Saturday (24) in Minneapolis.

The comedian and host of “The Daily Show” pointed to contradictions in the government’s attempt to portray Pretti as a “domestic terrorist” in order to justify the nurse’s death.
Pretti was present at one of the protests against ICE’s presence in the city of Minneapolis. He placed himself between a woman and a federal agent who was spraying pepper spray at her.
He was holding a cellphone in his left hand and his right hand was empty, according to an analysis by The New York Times.

The Department of Homeland Security made conflicting claims that he was armed, and that agents therefore restrained Pretti.
“Imagine how they lie when there is no evidence to contradict them,” Jon Stewart said angrily in his monologue.
“Maybe that explains why Alex Pretti was really a threat. Because he was brandishing a weapon. A portable weapon, aluminum, 1080p, 60 frames per second, with mass lighting,” he analyzed.
“Because there is nothing more dangerous to a regime based on lies than witnesses who capture the truth,” Jon Stewart concluded.
