MrBeast, the popular and controversial video creator, is taking a major career leap by investing in streaming with a new competitive reality show that will be produced for Amazon Prime. According to Jimmy Donaldson, Beast’s real name, the program, called ‘Beast Games‘, will be launched on Prime Video and will feature “over 1,000 competitors and a prize of US$ 5 million.

Donaldson, who has over 245 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, is known for his competitions and generous actions. In one of his most popular videos, the YouTuber garnered over 580 million views by recreating Squid Game, Netflix’s hit program. Donaldson also grabs attention with his peculiar philanthropy methods: in a video titled “1,000 blind people see for the first time”, besides paying for cataract surgeries, as patients come out of the procedure, he hands some of them a suitcase full of money.

In a press release, Donaldson revealed what the new game show should be like: “My goal is to make the best show possible and prove that YouTubers and creators can succeed on other platforms.” “Amazon has given me the creative control I need to try to make this happen. I hope to make the YouTube community proud,” he said.

Donaldson will serve as executive producer of ‘Beast Games‘, which will be exclusively streamed on Prime Video, reaching over 240 countries. The program, with no release date yet, is expected to hit the streaming service later this year.
