During his participation on the podcast “Broken Record,” Will Smith revealed that he has a strange connection to the deaths of music legends Prince and Notorious B.I.G. The “Men in Black” actor was with both of them just hours before they passed away.

Will Smith told Justin Richmond, the host of the “Broken Record” podcast, that he was with Prince and Notorious B.I.G. just hours before their deaths.

“Let me tell you, I don’t even want to say this out loud because it’s like, a terrible bad luck. I met Biggie four hours before he was killed. And I talked to Prince eight hours before he died,” confessed the star of “Bad Boys.”

He provided more details about his strange connection to the passing of both.

“I talked to Prince, he called me and was proposing an idea. He said that I, he, and Jay-Z should start an entertainment company,” Smith shared.

“And he said he had already talked to Jay and wanted to do it. We talked that night, and in the morning, he was gone. I don’t know what that says about me,” he added. Prince died on April 21, 2016, from a drug overdose.

The encounter with Notorious B.I.G. took place just hours before he was shot and killed in an assassination attempt in Los Angeles on March 9, 1997. Will Smith said that the rapper’s death “shocked” him and made him “cry.”
