The actor, who starred in “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” from 2001 to 2011, recalled the exhausting routine the team faced while filming the series.

Vincent D’Onofrio, who spent 10 years as the lead of “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” in the role of Detective Robert Goren, spoke about the exhausting routine the team faced while filming the series.

In an interview with GQ, the actor revealed that although he loved working on the show, he simply hated the long workdays, which usually involved 17 hours of shooting.

In a video shared on YouTube, the 66-year-old actor reflected on his career and recalled some of his characters, including the brilliant and focused detective from the “Law & Order” franchise.

According to D’Onofrio, he learned a lot during the years he filmed the series, but the production took a heavy toll on him and on Kathryn Erbe, who played Alexandra Eames, his partner.

“It was exhausting for me and for Kate Erbe,” he said. “It was a lot of hours. Basically, we worked an average of 17 hours a day, every day, for 10 months a year. So it was tough. You know, I hated it. And I’m glad that’s no longer allowed. Nobody can do that to actors anymore,” he reflected.

D’Onofrio starred in the first nine seasons of “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” and temporarily left the show in 2010, but returned for the tenth and final season in 2011 after requests from fans.

Currently, D’Onofrio is promoting the second season of “Daredevil: Born Again” on Disney+, where he plays Wilson Fisk, also known as the Kingpin.
