Two weeks after launching the war against Iran in a joint attack with Israel, Donald Trump made a controversial statement about the conflict during an appearance on Fox News on Friday (13).
On February 28, the United States and Israel carried out an attack on a school in Iran that killed more than 150 girls in the south of the country. Since then, at least 2,000 people have been killed in attacks on Iran.
The offensive triggered a series of Iranian bombings against U.S. allied countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, and Israel.
Iran has also intensified its blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, through which a large portion of the world’s oil passes, increasing fears of a global fuel crisis.
U.S. citizens concerned about the direction of the war were outraged by Trump’s statement to Brian Kilmeade on Fox News.
“We had the greatest economy in history, and we still do. Oh, this will recover quickly. When it’s over—and I don’t think it will take long—when it’s over, this will recover very quickly,” Trump began.

“When will you know it’s over?” Kilmeade asked. “When I feel it. When I feel it in my bones,” Trump concluded.
“I must have missed the part of the Constitution about war powers being based on ‘feeling it in your bones,’” said one outraged user.
“Imagine if a female political leader said she was making life-or-death decisions based on a feeling,” wrote another.
