The White House shared an edited image of Donald Trump portrayed as James Bond on social media, amid the official start of the search for the next actor in the 007 franchise.
The post was shared on the White House’s official X account last Sunday (17), shortly after Amazon MGM announced the start of auditions to choose the successor to Daniel Craig in the role of the British secret agent.
In the image, Trump appears wearing a tuxedo and holding a silenced pistol in a poster inspired by the James Bond movies. The material also features the slogan “Make America Great Again” and the traditional “007” logo, while the caption consisted only of an eyes emoji.
According to Entertainment Weekly, this is another of several edited images released by the Trump administration’s communications team using pop culture references. In recent weeks, official White House profiles have also shared images of the president inspired by characters from Star Wars and other famous films.
The publication came just days after Amazon MGM confirmed that the casting process for the new James Bond had officially begun. The casting director will be Nina Gold, known for her work on productions such as Game of Thrones, The Crown, and Star Wars.
At the moment, there is no real connection between Trump and the 007 franchise. Among the names speculated by fans and the media to take on the role are actors such as Jacob Elordi, Callum Turner, and Regé-Jean Page.
