Netflix subscribers reveal that many are binge-watching all episodes of the platform’s new crime series, “The Waterfront.”
Written and produced by Kevin Williamson, the series has eight episodes and premiered on Netflix on June 19, being called by many subscribers the “best series of 2025.”
“The Waterfront” tells the story of the fictional Buckley family, who are dealing with the collapse of their fishing empire in North Carolina. They’re willing to take extreme measures to reclaim the family fortune.
The series stars Jake Weary, Melissa Benoist, Maria Bello, Danielle Campbell, and Holt McCallany.

“It’s about a hardworking man trying to provide for his family. They came from nothing and built this small fishing empire in a little town,” the creator told Netflix’s Tudum portal.
“Now it’s being taken away from them, bit by bit. They’ll do whatever it takes to hold onto it, because it represents who they are,” Williamson continued.

The streaming giant has not yet confirmed if “The Waterfront” will have a continuation.
