Stephen Colbert joked that the attack on Venezuela and the kidnapping of Nicolás Maduro might have hinted at the Epstein case files.

On Saturday (3), President Nicolás Maduro and his wife were kidnapped in an attack organized by the Trump administration.

“2026 started with a bang and an explosion, because on the night of January 2, before Anderson and Andy even had time to sober up, this happened,” explained Stephen Colbert.

A clip from his monologue on Instagram shows a series of news reports explaining Trump’s actions. “You know what that means? Those Epstein files must be insane,” the host joked.

Colbert then pretended to be a panicked politician, leafing through the documents in the Epstein case, who was accused of abusing minors. The late financier was linked to several politicians, including Donald Trump.

“Bomb something!” said Stephen Colbert, pretending to panic. “Just bomb everything!” he satirized.

“The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” returned from the holiday break. However, the show will end in 2026. The announcement was made last July.
