New series in the “The Big Bang Theory” universe brings back a fan-favorite character. The producer has already confirmed the spin-off’s production.

“Stuart Fails to Save the Universe” is the new title of “The Big Bang Theory” spin-off. Producer Chuck Lorre confirmed the series’ production on Wednesday (19).

Stuart, once again played by Kevin Sussman, is a comic book store owner who was frequently visited by Sheldon, Leonard, and other characters.

The series also brings back Lauren Lapkus as Denise, Sheldon’s girlfriend, and John Ross as Barry Kripke, a scientist with a speech impediment who works at the same university.

CBS, the network behind the series, has not yet announced the full cast of the spin-off. The production will be led by Chuck Lorre, who previously worked on another series in the franchise, “Young Sheldon,” which ended in 2024.

Sussman and Ross were almost cast as the main characters Sheldon and Leonard. The series aims to give more screen time to these characters and their actors.
