A passenger from the USA went viral after filming his phone passing through an airport X-ray machine. The result excited internet users.

Over 33 seconds, the phone shows the inside at the moment the X-rays are emitted from the scanner, causing interference in the footage.

“It’s really cool to see the grayish and blurry pixels, like those that appear in footage near radioactive material,” commented one user.

The passenger posted the video on a Reddit forum about radiation.

“This is really cool… and probably a bit illegal. Edit: don’t delete the video, it’s too good to disappear,” wrote another.

The passenger who posted said he had asked for permission from the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) to record the video.

One user asked if the radiation from the machine could have damaged the camera, but others said that only industrial-scale X-ray machines could cause that kind of damage.
