Ted Sarandos, co-CEO of Netflix, reportedly does not want to speak with Meghan Markle on the phone without a lawyer present.

Three sources cited by Variety claimed that Sarandos is “fed up” with Markle and Prince Harry. He allegedly said he would only agree to speak with the actress by phone if a lawyer is on the line.

Although the three sources quoted by Variety emphasized that they did not know whether he was serious or joking, a spokesperson for Netflix told the magazine that the claims are “absolutely inaccurate.”

“This is blatantly false. In fact, Meghan texts and speaks with Mr. Sarandos regularly and has been in his home without lawyers,” said Michael J. Kump, attorney for Meghan Markle, to the outlet.

Another source cited by Page Six said that Markle and Sarandos have a great relationship. In addition, Netflix insiders insisted that Sarandos and his wife, Nicole Avant, often socialize with the Duke and Duchess, who are their neighbors in Montecito, California.

Markle and Harry originally negotiated a $100 million deal with Netflix in 2020. But in August last year, Page Six reported that the couple signed a new agreement with the streaming platform for a lower amount than the previous contract.

To make matters worse, Netflix cut ties with Markle’s lifestyle brand, As Ever, earlier this month after her two-season series, With Love, Meghan, was shelved due to declining viewership.

Despite this, Meghan and Harry still have a deal with Netflix through their production company, Archewell Productions. A source told Page Six that the deal is in a very good place, with several scripted and unscripted projects currently in development.
