Hanna Plunkett reached over 11.7 million views after making her son quiet using a YouTube video. The mother used a video with sounds from a mechanic’s workshop.
“The baby cried nonstop for 10 hours. Nothing could calm him down,” the mother wrote in the video caption.
“I played mechanic sounds on YouTube and he stopped immediately,” Plunkett added.
The video shows the baby staring at the camera while sitting in his swing. In the background, on the family TV, images of officials and typical maintenance sounds like hammering, screwdrivers, drills, and more were playing.
Many asked how the mother came up with this solution. Others joked that the baby was already an experienced mechanic. “(Take the bottle out of his mouth) You’re going to need a new alternator,” one wrote.
Another mother shared a similar experience to Plunkett’s and said her daughter also only stopped crying after hearing a mechanic’s sound.
“My daughter was teething, crying a lot at night. My brother came in and said ‘look at this’, played the sound of a car braking, and she stopped in 2.5 seconds,” she wrote.
