A set of 10 stamps will be released to celebrate the 60th anniversary of “Monty Python“, the irreverent British comedy group.

Royal Mail will launch a set of 10 stamps and other collectible items to honor the 60th anniversary of “Monty Python“, the irreverent British comedy group.

Six of the stamps will depict fan-favorite characters from “Monty Python’s Flying Circus“, which aired from 1969 to 1974. The other four stamps will mark the 50th anniversary of “Monty Python and the Holy Grail“, a 1975 production.

Monty Python” was one of the UK’s most renowned comedy groups, formed by actors Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, Sir Michael Palin, and Terry Gilliam.

In a press release, David Gold, Director of External Affairs and Policy at Royal Mail, spoke about what “Monty Python” represents for British culture.

“Monty Python left an indelible mark on global comedy, while remaining unmistakably British at its core,” he said.

“From its groundbreaking television debut to a series of iconic films, this stamp collection celebrates a body of work that has shaped the comedy landscape for nearly six decades.”

The stamps and a range of collectible products will be available for pre-order from August 7 and for general sale from August 14.
