Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to comments made by journalist Brian Glenn, chief White House correspondent for Real America’s Voice, during the Ukrainian head of state’s meeting with President Trump.

The incident occurred in February when Zelenskyy traveled to the US at the beginning of the year to discuss with Donald Trump a possible end to Ukraine’s war against Russia.
The Ukrainian president was not wearing a suit on the occasion, which drew Glenn’s attention. “Why aren’t you wearing a suit? You are at the highest level of this country’s office and you refuse to wear a suit. Do you own a suit?” he asked.
The meeting was marked by Trump shouting at Zelenskyy, saying he was playing with “World War III,” while US Vice President JD Vance said he was not grateful enough to the US for its help.

Now, at the meeting with Trump on Monday (17), the Ukrainian president recalled the question about his attire. “You are wearing the same suit. I changed, you didn’t,” he joked.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Zelenskyy opted for a shirt without a tie and a military-style jacket. Last time, he wore a black henley shirt featuring the Ukrainian trident.
“What a clever way to put the reporter in his place, smiling,” commented one user on X. Some said that the sharp response was due to the fact that the president had been a comedian before taking office.
