In an intense outburst published on his Substack on Tuesday (7), filmmaker Michael Moore, known for his liberal views, criticized the United States and its role in the war with Iran.
The documentarian called Donald Trump a “terrorist” after the president threatened to wipe out the entire Iranian civilization if the country did not accept a ceasefire agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and end the conflict.
“Our leaders and our media are stupid enough to keep asking questions like ‘why do they hate us?’ Hate us?! They don’t hate us! We are the ones who hate!” Michael Moore protested.
“We are the villains! If you didn’t realize that under previous presidents, at least Donald Trump tore off the mask and showed who we really are!” explained the director of “Fahrenheit 9/11.”
He also said the U.S. is the “only sick and violent enough nation” to use nuclear weapons. Michael Moore also praised Iran as the “cradle of one of the greatest civilizations this planet has ever seen.”
“While our ancestors in Europe were still trying to figure out how to build a hut, the Persians had already written the world’s first declaration of human rights,” Michael Moore added.

“These are the people who gave us algebra, medicine, and the Game of Thrones theme song. Despite harsh government repression and censorship today, Iran still produces some of the greatest filmmakers in the world.”
Michael Moore urged the U.S. military to disobey “illegal” and “immoral” orders, and called on Congress to begin impeachment proceedings against Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Donald Trump.
“No one is coming to save us. We have to do it ourselves!” The director’s comments came before the ceasefire announcement.
