Warner Bros. Discovery announced at the Upfront event on Wednesday (14) that the company’s streaming platform will revert to its original name, HBO Max.
The streaming service was launched in 2020, but in 2023 it was announced that the service would simply be called Max, with the aim of consolidating Warner’s channels, including Discovery, TLC, HGTV, and many others.

David Zaslav, CEO of Warner, said in a statement that “returning the HBO brand to HBO Max will further boost the service and expand the exclusivity that subscribers can expect.”
Zaslav pointed out that the streaming service is growing and that the quality of HBO’s productions will “accelerate this growth in the coming years.”
The change will be implemented by Warner between June and September.
