Mama June joined her daughters Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson, Jessica Shannon, and Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird for a conversation with Rachel Smith from ET, where the controversy over the missing money was addressed.

In April, Mama June confessed in an episode of ‘Mama June: Family Crisis‘ to spending $30,000 of Alana’s money on household bills, manicures, and other “living expenses,” which led to a serious fight between mother and daughter that was revealed on the reality show. At the time, June declared that she didn’t care: “I don’t give a damn. Take me to court.”

June tried to clarify during the interview that she had used part of Alana’s earnings from her appearances on ‘Dancing With the Stars: Juniors‘ and ‘The Masked Singer‘ to cover various living expenses.

“That time was, honestly, a dark place in my life,” June said, clarifying that the amount was never deposited into Alana’s bank account, a specific account for children working as artists that makes the funds inaccessible until they turn 18.

Sitting next to her mother during the interview, Alana revealed that she is still trying to overcome the money issue; “I thought that 100 percent of that money was going into that account, so I thought that when I was old enough, I could use it during the four years of college, because I worked hard, I was six years old, and a lot of people can’t say that. So I worked very hard for what I have and the money I have, so I was assuming she had invested 100 percent of the money, but that wasn’t how it worked.”
