Latonya Pottain became known for her participation in the 11th season of ‘My 600-lb Life’ on TLC. She passed away on May 17 in Louisiana, according to the New York Post.

According to the Natchitoches County Coroner’s Office, no autopsy was performed because Latonya Pottain died of natural causes. Before this was confirmed, doctors presumed she had died due to congestive heart failure.

The body was released to a funeral home chosen by the family, as the coroner told the New York Post. Pottain’s brother told TMZ that she did not seem to be doing well that day.

Family and friends visited her on the morning of Saturday (17) and noticed that she was struggling to breathe. Latonya Pottain, who passed away hours after the visit, had been facing several health problems, especially heart-related issues.

The reality show “My 600-lb Life” showed her ongoing struggle to lose weight. Even after hiring a personal trainer to reach her goal, she continued to gain weight. Latonya said food was good for her mental health.

“When I eat, the stress goes away,” Pottain said in the TLC series. “That’s what I do to deal with things.”

Now, family members of the reality star have set up a GoFundMe campaign to cover the costs of Latonya Pottain’s funeral.

“Please join us in prayer for this beloved family as they finalize the final arrangements for the care of their deceased loved one,” said the online obituary.
