Lady Gaga revealed to journalists that she and Joaquim Phoenix did not rehearse any scenes from “Joker: Folie à Deux.”
According to the portal UOL, the artist stated during a conversation with the press that she and Phoenix decided to build their characters’ relationship in a different way: “Yes. We filmed directly, so that everything felt very raw and pure.”
In “Joker: Folie à Deux,” Gaga plays Harleen Quinzel, the romantic interest of the Joker, portrayed by Joaquim Phoenix. According to the actress, instead of rehearsing, she and Phoenix discussed the scenes before shooting.
“We talked about the scene, about what we were saying to each other. We were looking for the truth. But we never rehearsed,” she said.
