“I still feel it. I can’t drive through this city, and Paris for that matter, without thinking about her,” she added during the interview in London.

“All the love that poured out of that woman… I can cry for her at any moment,” said Kristen Stewart about Princess Diana, who died at the age of 36 in 1997 as a result of a car accident.

The film “Spencer” portrays the life of the royal family member spending Christmas 1991 with the royal family while she was going through problems in her marriage with the current King Charles.

Kristen Stewart also said that she and Diana had a similar experience with being pursued by the press, which would have motivated the film’s director, Pablo Larraín, to choose the actress for the role.

“She was torn apart, torn apart to death [by the paparazzi]. And her rebellious qualities seemed so desperate, so young and so vulnerable,” Stewart lamented.

The former star of “Twilight” added that this level of media attention “kind of sucks the soul out” and revealed that when filming ended she felt like an “empty shell,” and that Diana likely felt that way too.

The role earned Kristen Stewart her first nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress.
