Nearly 10 years after having her jewelry stolen in a Paris hotel, Kim Kardashian will testify in court against the gang responsible for the robbery. The stolen jewelry was valued at $10 million.

Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in 2016 at the Hôtel de Pourtalès in Paris. The thieves took $10 million worth of jewelry, including the wedding ring the SKIMS founder received from her then-husband Kanye West.

French authorities indicted 12 of the 17 suspects in 2021, and they now face a jury trial.

Kim Kardashian gave a statement four months after the crime to a French judge in New York, according to the Daily Mail.

Yunis Abbas, one of the masterminds behind the robbery, said in a 2022 interview that the crime was justified by the socialite’s extravagant posts on social media.

“Since she was throwing money away, I was there to take it, that’s it. Guilty? No, I don’t care,” Abbas told VICE News.

Kim Kardashian has previously stated that she suffers from agoraphobia as a result of the robbery, an anxiety disorder caused by fear of situations or places that may feel out of control.
