The actor had the accident on the set of “Good Fortune,” the series that tells the story of an angel named Gabriel, played by Keanu Reeves, who interferes in the life of a worker and a wealthy man.
In an interview on The Late Night Show with Stephen Colbert in July 2024, the actor shared that he was with his co-stars Aziz Ansari and Seth Rogen during a cold immersion.
“I was loving it, I was standing there, and we finished the scene, and you know when you’re cold and start [shuffling]? I was in swimming trunks and a towel, put the towel on my head and started doing the ‘cold shuffle,’” he said.

“I was doing the cold shuffle in this room that had protective carpets and then, right there, there was a kind of pocket, and my foot got stuck in that pocket during the shuffle, and I went [down], but [my knee] didn’t follow.”
Keanu Reeves said he was falling and even tried to hold himself with his arms, but the knee didn’t follow the movement and his kneecap “broke like a potato chip.”
Ansari commented on the injury at CinemaCon, saying his co-star was “a true warrior.” “He still filmed everything, except for a few scenes where he had to do salsa dancing, which we still need to shoot,” he said.
