After receiving the award for Best Talk Show, Jimmy Kimmel delivered an extensive speech thanking his colleagues. He also didn’t miss the chance to poke fun at Donald Trump.

“A FIFA Peace Award would have been better, but this is cool too,” Kimmel joked, referring to the award Trump received from FIFA president Gianni Infantino during the 2026 World Cup group draw.

“Above all, I want to thank our president, Donald Jennifer Trump, without whom we would be going home empty-handed tonight,” Kimmel said.

“Thank you, Mr. President, for all the many ridiculous things you do every day,” the host continued, as he was met with a round of applause.

The U.S. president made several attacks on the host throughout 2025, even going so far as to celebrate the suspension of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” after Kimmel’s comments about the death of Charlie Kirk.

After his jokes, Jimmy Kimmel struck a more serious tone to thank everyone who works on the production of the talk show. The host praised the work of writers, actors, producers, and union members.

“Thank you to everyone […] who supported us, who really stepped up and reminded us that we do not take freedom of speech for granted in this city or in this country. Your actions mattered. We appreciate that,” he said.

Among the nominees were “The Daily Show,” “Hot Ones,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” and “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.”

Kimmel has already been nominated for the award ten times and won once in 2018.
