During Sunday’s episode of *This Week* (October 12), U.S. Vice President JD Vance was questioned about the Tom Homan scandal. The question from host George Stephanopoulos visibly angered Vance.

Homan is Donald Trump’s so-called “border czar,” responsible for operations at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE).

He was under investigation for allegedly accepting $50,000 in September 2024 in exchange for helping broker future government contracts related to immigration law enforcement.

The Trump administration reportedly ended the investigation.

Stephanopoulos asked JD Vance whether Homan had kept the money.
“George, you’ve covered this story to death. Tom Homan didn’t take any bribes. It’s a ridiculous accusation,” replied the vice president.

“The reason you’re going after him so aggressively is because he’s doing his job enforcing the law. I think it’s completely absurd,” Vance continued.

“I’m asking if he took the $50,000 that appears in the surveillance recording. Did he take that money or not?” pressed the host. The vice president replied that he didn’t know what Stephanopoulos was talking about.

“He was recorded on FBI audio surveillance in September 2024 receiving $50,000 in cash. Did he keep that money?” Stephanopoulos persisted.

Vance became irritated and began attacking the show’s audience, saying that “fewer and fewer people are watching your program” and that this was why it was “losing credibility,” before being cut off mid-sentence.
