German model Heidi Klum said she isn’t sure whether the “worm and parasite cleanse” she and her husband, Tom Kaulitz, went through actually worked. She shared details about the procedure in an interview with People magazine.

“A lot of people asked me too, like: ‘What happened?’ And I’m like: ‘I don’t even know if anything happened!’”, Heidi Klum said in the interview, which was published on Saturday, November 29.
“I just felt good… just, if there were [worms or parasites], then I hope they came out of my body, because I hear a lot of people talking about this all the time,” she continued.
She thanked her husband for keeping her company during the cleanse. “It’s easier to do it with a partner in the morning because you have to drink some weird stuff,” she said.
Heidi Klum explained that the products used were all herbal, but even so, “it’s gross, and you have to do this routine every day to kill all the eggs, apparently.”

“You have to do two rounds instead of two weeks. We did two rounds to hopefully kill eggs and other things. But yes, we felt great afterward,” she added.
The “Project Runway” host said she got the idea to do the cleanse after seeing information about worms on Instagram.
David Purow, a New York gastroenterologist, spoke about the risks of the procedure that Heidi Klum and her husband did.
“Not all people have parasites and worms as part of their normal microbiome. There are no clear and proven benefits to these cleanses,” Purow explained.
