The actor from “Ocean’s Eleven” pushed back against the comments in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter on January 1.
Trump sarcastically celebrated the move of George Clooney and his family to France after the Hollywood star obtained French citizenship, following years living at his property in Provence.
“Good news! George and Amal Clooney, two of the worst political prognosticators of all time, have officially become citizens of France,” Trump celebrated.
The president criticized French immigration policy and compared it to the one practiced by “Sleepy Joe Biden” in the United States.
The Republican also mentioned the time when George Clooney wrote an article in The New York Times in 2024, calling on Biden to give up reelection in favor of Kamala Harris.
“Clooney got more publicity from politics than from his very few films, which are completely mediocre. He was never a movie star, just an ordinary guy constantly complaining about common sense in politics,” he continued.

At the end of the post, he wrote his campaign slogan: “Make America Great Again”.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, George Clooney responded to the attacks. “I completely agree with the current president. We have to make America great again. Let’s start in November,” he declared.
The star’s comment refers to the elections for Congress and the White House, which take place in November 2026.
Clooney has been a consistent supporter of Democratic candidates, either through fundraising events or public statements.
