Tamika Chesser, a former star of the reality show Beauty and the Geek, gave birth in prison after being detained on suspicion of killing her boyfriend last year.
The Australian model, who appeared on the 2010 season of the reality show, was already pregnant when she was arrested in June 2025, accused of killing her boyfriend, Julian Story, 39.
Story’s body was found without a head inside the couple’s apartment in Port Lincoln, South Australia, around 3 p.m. on June 19, 2025. Authorities believe he had been killed two days earlier.
Officers went to the location after a neighbor reported a fire in the complex, according to police documents submitted to the court and obtained by the Australian broadcaster ABC.
The neighbor asked Chesser what was happening, to which she replied, “Nothing.” She then took her dogs for a walk and locked the front door, according to previous reports.
After she left to walk the dogs, the witness allegedly tried to put out the fire by filling a bucket with water and entering through Chesser’s back door.
“In the bathroom of the unit, he located a bundle of rags and debris that were burning. The witness soaked it and repeated the process with a second bucket of water,” the documents state.
When police arrived, “the accused was sitting on a garden chair in the courtyard adjacent to unit 3 in a catatonic and unresponsive state,” according to documents released by ABC.
Story’s head was only recovered on July 31 after it was found by a dog, police announced on September 5, 2025. Chesser is currently being held in a mental health facility in Australia. She is expected to return to court in April, according to 9 News.
