The first park dedicated to the animated series will be built in Saudi Arabia in Qiddiya, an entertainment and tourism project outside the capital Riyadh. The attraction will cover an area of 500,000 square meters and will feature an almost 70-meter-high dragon that will house a large roller coaster.
The announcement comes after Qiddiya teamed up with Toei Animation, a leading Japanese animation company and the original producer of Dragon Ball. The main goal of the partnership is to realize the dreams of the park’s visitors and bring the world of Dragon Ball into the real world.
In addition to the huge Shenron sculpture, the dragon that fulfills wishes, the theme park will include seven different areas that recreate locations from the series, such as Kame House, Capsule Corporation, and Beerus’ Planet; for a complete experience, visitors will be able to enjoy food from the Dragon Ball universe and also stay in themed hotels.
For the launch of the project, a promotional video was presented promising an “engaging and unprecedented entertainment destination” for Dragon Ball fans, “where fantasies and emotions collide” and people can “play a role in epic sagas”. After stepping into the theme park, visitors are supposedly going to feel like they are on a great adventure with Goku and his friends.
