The feature is an English-language remake of the South Korean film Save the Green Planet! (2003), directed by Jang Joon-hwan, and its trailer was released last Thursday (28).
In this sci-fi comedy, two conspiracy theorists kidnap the CEO of a company, believing she is an alien creature planning to destroy Earth.
That’s why Stone, who plays the CEO, had her head shaved by actor Jesse Plemons right after being thrown into the back of a Range Rover, to “keep her from reporting her ship.”

Director Yorgos Lanthimos, a “favorite” of Stone’s, emphasized that they only had one chance to shoot the scene. “It was like: ‘Here we go. […] We better get this right!’” Plemons told Vogue.
Rumors began in January, when the actress appeared with very short hair at the Golden Globe. But instead of using a wig and realistic makeup, she decided to actually shave her head.
Fortunately, Stone wasn’t the least bit afraid of going bald. “There’s no better feeling in the world. The first shower after shaving your head? My God, it’s amazing,” the actress admitted to Vogue.
But the experience also had an emotional side, when Stone recalled that her mother, Krista, had to shave her head during breast cancer treatment many years ago. “She really did something brave… I’m just shaving my head.”
After its premiere at the Venice International Film Festival on August 28, Bugonia will hit theaters on October 24.
