“I was blessed to have this very special moment on stage with my mother, my daughters, and our aiga (family), dancing the sacred dance of our Samoan culture, the Taualuga,” he wrote.

According to The Rock, the tradition is that Samoan men take off their shirts to proudly show their Polynesian tatau (tattoo) and “the intricate stories that our ink carries.”

In the video, Dwayne Johnson takes off his shirt and begins performing movements and pounding on the ground. The star was accompanied by his family members, including his mother and daughters.

“I’m pounding the ground as a way of showing my respect for the importance of this and for how sacred our ground becomes in this moment with our elders (and my daughters dancing by my side),” he explained in the caption.

“You simply can’t help but feel it. The mana,” he wrote emotionally, celebrating the opportunity to be by his family’s side.

Dwayne Johnson is the father of three daughters: Simone, 24, from his marriage to ex-wife Dany Garcia; and Jasmine, 9, and Tiana, 6, from his relationship with his current wife Lauren Hashian.

The actor shared with fans his wish to take his family to visit Samoa later in 2025.
