In a new “60 Minutes” interview, Donald Trump discussed the multimillion-dollar payment he received from Paramount in a settlement after suing the company last year for allegedly favoring Kamala Harris during a debate.

The topic came up after Donald Trump mentioned that “60 Minutes” had paid him a lot of money.

“And you don’t have to air this, because I don’t want to embarrass you,” Trump told Norah O’Donnell in an unaired part of the interview.

“60 Minutes” is a CBS program owned by Paramount Global. Trump sued the company in 2024, claiming it had favored Kamala Harris during the presidential race.

“I’m sure you don’t… you have a great, I think you have a great new leader, honestly, that young woman running your whole company is fantastic, as far as I know,” Donald Trump commented.

The U.S. president was referring to Bari Weiss, former New York Times columnist, who was appointed head of news at CBS.

The agreement between Trump and Paramount came a month before the company merged with Skydance Media, owned by David Ellison, son of Oracle founder and Trump ally Larry Ellison.

Shortly after the merger, Skydance announced the purchase of The Free Press, Bari Weiss’s media outlet, for $150 million.

Another factor that drew criticism over the merger was the cancellation of “The Late Show” after Stephen Colbert made several remarks criticizing Donald Trump. The talk show ended a month before the merger.

CBS, however, stated at the time that the decision was made for “purely financial” reasons.
