Jeffrey Paige and his girlfriend were shocked after seeing the exorbitant amount on their bill at Gordon Ramsay Steak in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
The couple had booked a table at the British chef’s restaurant and decided to order kobe beef, which was apparently listed on the menu for $35.
In an interview with LADbible, Paige said the experience of eating the kobe was something out of the ordinary.
“It was an amazing meal. And I still couldn’t believe the Kobe was cheaper than the Wagyu. Or at least, that’s what I thought,” Paige continued before revealing he had made a mistake.

“I had to reread the menu when I saw the amount. The bill for two people was over $600!” he said in shock.
It turns out the kobe beef was priced per gram. That is, every 28 grams of meat cost $35. Meaning the steak was approximately 340 grams.
However, the customer didn’t let the price get to him and handled the situation with humor.
“I wish Gordon Ramsay had been there to walk out of the kitchen and call me a ‘donut’ for messing up like that. But I really enjoyed it.”
Gordon Ramsay is a renowned chef who has earned a total of 17 Michelin stars and currently holds 7. He’s known for hosting cooking shows with his explosive personality.
