Corey Harrison, star of the reality show Pawn Stars, is asking for help paying his medical bills after suffering a serious motorcycle accident at the end of January.
The accident happened in Tulum, Mexico, just days before the wedding of his father, Rick Harrison, to Angie Polushkin. He suffered 11 fractures in his rib cage, a concussion, and internal bleeding, according to a page on the online fundraising platform GoFundMe created by Corey’s friend Aron Chambers.
According to Chambers, Corey was rushed to a hospital in Playa del Carmen, where he remained hospitalized for 14 days until “the financial pressure became too much.” Despite medical advice, Corey left the hospital and was taken back home to Tulum.
After arriving home, however, Corey had to call a doctor because he “was in excruciating pain.” The doctor administered intravenous fluids and morphine treatments, according to Chambers.
According to Chambers, Corey was “incredibly hesitant” to take strong painkillers after losing his brother, Adam Harrison, to an overdose in January 2024. “But the agony left him with no other option,” Chambers wrote.

Days after the doctor’s visit, Corey’s “oxygen levels dropped to dangerously low levels,” according to Chambers. That’s when Corey said: “I’m going to die here. I don’t have the money to keep paying these people.”
The group caring for him then decided to move him from hospitals in the nearby tourist area to a facility more than four hours away, where there was a more “affordable” medical center in Mérida, in southern Mexico.
There, they discovered that one of Corey’s ribs was “completely separated and pressing against his lung.” As a result, nearly three liters of blood were drained from his chest cavity, and he underwent three surgeries to save his life.
He remained hospitalized for another 18 days before being discharged, but his medical bills have already surpassed $100,000. Corey is now seeking help after “emptying his entire bank account” and maxing out his credit cards.
“Being on television and part of the fame of Pawn Stars doesn’t come with a built-in safety net for emergencies like this — medical crises don’t care about celebrity status,” Chambers wrote.
“This fundraiser is our lifeline to help him get through this. Asking for help isn’t easy for someone as independent as Corey, but this accident changed everything, and we can’t do this alone.”
Corey told TMZ last Thursday (5) that he is no longer affiliated with Pawn Stars, but he still receives some residual checks from reruns. The goal of the GoFundMe is to raise $18,000. So far, they have raised more than $7,000.
