Smith was taken into custody on Thursday (28), over a year after Illinois police first issued a warrant for the 33-year-old man, according to the TMZ website.

The former reality show star fled after allegedly being caught interacting with an undercover officer posing as an underage girl “for several weeks” online.

At the time, Illinois police claimed that Smith had sent explicit videos and images of himself to the officer, believing he was communicating with a 15-year-old girl.

He allegedly planned a meeting with the minor for sexual acts. When he attempted to execute his alleged plan in February 2023, Smith encountered detectives. However, he managed to escape and fled in his vehicle.

At the time, Smith faced three charges: traveling to meet a minor, solicitation, and dissemination of harmful material.

In 2021, Smith was also arrested for allegedly raping and assaulting a 16-year-old girl in Indiana. Smith allegedly met the young woman on a dating app before she went out to meet him one night.

However, the victim said she “immediately had a bad feeling” about the encounter after coming face to face with Smith. The charges were dropped in September 2022 after the victim stopped cooperating with police.
