Fans of Taylor Swift almost believed that the singer would be in the cast of the sequel to “Wicked.” The post was made by a parody account on X, formerly Twitter.

The profile Pob Base, a parody account of the news portal Pop Base, shared an AI-generated image showing Taylor Swift dressed as Dorothy from the film “Wizard of Oz.”

The singer of “Fearless” was wearing the character’s iconic braids, with blue bows and the blue checkered dress.

“First look at Dorothy, who will be played by Taylor Swift in WICKED: FOR GOOD,” the profile wrote in the caption. Swift’s fans went to the comments to express their excitement about the supposed casting choice.

“This is amazing! I’m so excited, I can hardly contain myself! What a fantastic casting choice!” said one very excited fan.

It was later revealed that the image was fake and had been generated with artificial intelligence, though Taylor Swift has dressed as Dorothy once before for the “Karma” music video.

“Wicked: For Good” premieres on November 21, 2025, without the singer.
