Steve Burns, former host of “Blue’s Clues,” goes viral with an emotional video in which he says nothing but expresses the feelings of many, one day after the U.S. elections.
Steve Burns, former host of “Blue’s Clues,” shared a touching clip shortly after the American elections, where he doesn’t say a word but seems to express the feelings of many people.
In the approximately one-minute-long video, posted on TikTok on November 6th, Burns is seen carrying two mugs and placing one of them below the camera, as if serving the viewer. He then takes a sip from the mug he’s still holding while resting his arms on a fence and looking out at the view.
Burns doesn’t say anything, and all that can be heard are the sounds of the environment, such as birds singing and the wind whistling. At the end of the clip, he waves at the camera and takes a deep breath. The video was interpreted as a recognition that the outcome of the U.S. elections was painful for many people.
Within hours, the post went viral with over 2 million views, more than 400,000 likes, and thousands of comments, many from people saying they felt emotional and saw Burns’ post as a message of support, a comfort, even without a word spoken.
“He didn’t say anything. I just cried,” commented one person; “Steve, I’m really trying not to cry at my grown-up job today, but it’s not easy,” wrote another; “I bet you never imagined you’d still be raising us after all these years, Steve, but thank you for still being here,” said a third.
