Actress Jodie Turner-Smith recently accused actor Joshua Jackson of never paying child support for their daughter.

The British actress, 38, who was married to Jackson from 2019 to 2023, officially accused the Dawson’s Creek star in a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles County Court, according to the magazine People.

Turner-Smith, who is the mother of Juno, 4, is demanding in the lawsuit that her ex-husband pay everything he owes for the monthly child support of $8,500 for their daughter, in addition to her own monthly support of $28,600. Payments were reportedly delayed since October 2023 when they separated.

The actress, who is also seeking $250,000 in legal fees, explained that since her daughter’s birth, she has dedicated her life to her, while Jackson “continued investing in his career.”

Though she is an up-and-coming star and has already appeared in productions like Queen & Slim, The Agency, Ana Bolena, and The Acolyte, she explained that, since she is younger than the 46-year-old actor, she is still working on establishing her name, while he is already a successful star.

“Josh always promised me his support and assured me that I didn’t need to worry about our daughter’s financial security if we broke up, because he said he understood how hard life can be for a Black woman and a single mother,” she said.

Thus, she believed that her daughter’s father had not kept the promise he made when they were together. Turner-Smith also revealed that she plans to use the money to buy a house where she and her daughter can live in Los Angeles.
