Donald Trump was seen at the World Economic Forum in Davos with a purple swelling on his hand. The U.S. president joked and said it was due to “high doses” of aspirin.
During his controversial speeches about the annexation of Greenland, photographers noticed that Trump’s left hand had unusual purple marks, raising a series of questions about his health condition.
This is not the first time injuries have been seen on the Republican’s hand. In 2025, similar marks caught the attention of the press. Now, in Davos, the issue resurfaced after Trump tried to hide the marks with makeup.
Press secretary Karoline Leavitt told CBS News producer Sara Cook that the bruise appeared after a minor accident during Trump’s Peace Council event on Thursday (22).

“During today’s Peace Council event in Davos, President Trump hit his hand on the corner of the signing table, causing the injury,” Cook reported in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
The president himself told The Wall Street Journal that he has been getting injured more often due to his daily use of aspirin.
“They say aspirin is good for thinning the blood, and I don’t want thick blood flowing through my heart,” he said. “I want nice, thin blood flowing through my heart.”
According to the U.S. leader, he takes 325 mg of the medication per day instead of the 81 mg dose recommended by doctors, and has done so for 25 years.
