“I think it’s very important that we don’t forget this and that we don’t give in to this revisionist history,” said Jimmy Kimmel.
“Five years ago, today, we saw with our own eyes proof that the American president is the most anti-American there is. […] Happy ‘invasion anniversary,’ everyone!” the comedian commented.
He accused Trump of trying to “overthrow our government in a pathetic and illegal attempt to remain in the White House.”
“Trump incited his supporters and sent them to the Capitol, where they carried out a violent and deadly riot, which he enjoyed for hours, comfortably from his office,” Kimmel condemned.

Jimmy Kimmel’s outburst comes after the official White House Instagram account published a version that distorts what happened on January 6, 2021.

The post claims that ABC News, from the same network as Jimmy Kimmel’s show, “grossly misrepresented the events” that occurred after Trump insisted that the election had been stolen from him.
