“Mamdani managed to turn the game around the way any New Yorker would,” said the legal expert.
“That’s the point. New Yorkers, we’re a special kind of people, okay? I’m from the Bronx. He lived in Queens. He studied in the Bronx. Game recognizes game,” Sunny Hostin commented.
“He talked about housing, building homes, affordability. Let’s be honest, Trump wants a piece of New York’s real estate business,” she added. “This was about business. Mamdani, we have to admit, he played like a politician,” she assessed.

Sunny Hostin’s remarks come after Mamdani’s meeting with Trump on November 21.
The US president had previously insulted New York’s new mayor during Mamdani’s campaign, but this time he held back. He described the 34-year-old democratic socialist as a “very rational person.”
“I want him to do a great job, and I’m going to help him do a great job,” said Trump.
