The 78-year-old actress surprised fans of the franchise with her new look. Glenn Close will play Drusilla Sickle, who will escort the District 12 tributes to the Quarter Quell.

“The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping” had its trailer released on Thursday (20). Glenn Close’s character arrives in the beginning of the trailer to make the announcement of the reaping.

“Welcome, Panem, to the glorious reaping of District 12. Twice the tributes. Twice the glory,” says Sickle, surrounded by the crowd of residents and peacekeepers.

The rest of the trailer shows competitors from other parts of Panem facing off in a grassy, tree-filled arena.

The prequel film is based on Suzanne Collins’ 2025 book of the same name, part of the “Hunger Games” series, and takes place 24 years before Katniss Everdeen’s Games.
