At the time, Jerome was 58 years old. He claims that he and other colleagues were “fired and replaced by younger, less experienced employees and/or individuals of other races.”
The lawsuit filed by the former Paramount employee states that a senior company executive complained about “the older age group of the audience” and suggested that hiring “15 younger employees” could help.
Jerome, who worked at the company for about 30 years, claims he was repeatedly criticized for thinking in an “old-fashioned” way.

He also states that executive compensation was tied to meeting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion goals.
According to him, one of the four goals of his department at Paramount was to maintain or increase the representation of women and ethnic minorities in leadership positions.
Jerome says he was replaced by a 25-year-old Black female attorney who had just graduated from law school. He also accused the company of other episodes of discrimination, which he listed in the lawsuit.
Paramount has not commented on the situation.
