“We thought it could be a fun way to drive the president crazy,” said Colbert, referring to Donald Trump, who has repeatedly attacked U.S. late-night talk shows, including “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
“It’s the show the FCC doesn’t want you to see,” Kimmel said in the opening monologue. “Thanks to the Trump administration, [Colbert] is now only available for a limited time,” he added while introducing him as a guest.
Kimmel went on making jokes about Trump, commenting on the escalator incident at the UN on September 23.

“If you gain so much weight that you break escalators, you’re unfit to serve in the armed forces.”
This comes after Jimmy Kimmel’s show went on a brief hiatus following comments about the death of Charlie Kirk.
Colbert’s program was canceled by Paramount after the host criticized the network for paying Trump $16 million in a settlement.
