U.S. President Donald Trump reached a settlement with the video platform after filing a lawsuit against YouTube for suspending his account following the January 6 Capitol incident.
A court document reveals that the American Conservative Union, Andrew Baggiani, Austen Fletcher, Maryse Veronica Jean-Louis, Frank Valentine, Kelly Victory, and Naomi Wolf also joined as plaintiffs in the lawsuit.
The social media platform agreed to pay Donald Trump approximately $24.5 million to settle the case, with $22 million of that amount going to Trump and $2.5 million to the other plaintiffs.

On January 6, 2021, thousands of Donald Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol, occupying the chambers and issuing threats against officials inside.
Trump’s YouTube account was suspended after the attempted insurrection but was reinstated two years later so that voters could “equally hear from all major national candidates in the electoral race.”
