Shaughnessy played Maxwell Sheffield, the boss and romantic interest of Fran Drescher’s character, Fran Fine, in the iconic 1990s CBS series.

“Out for dinner with Mr. Sheffield and the EPs of The Nanny,” wrote the actress on her Instagram profile.

Fran Drescher was accompanied by Shaughnessy, Peter Marc Jacobson, her ex-husband and co-creator of the series, along with producers Robert Sternin, Prudence Fraser, and Diane Wilk.

The actress said she had a pleasant evening with her former colleagues. Shaughnessy shared the post with the caption: “Getting the band back together…?! A great evening with Susan and the ‘The Nanny’ crew!!”

The show tells the story of Fran Fine (Drescher), a Jewish woman who becomes a nanny for the three children of a Broadway producer (Shaughnessy). “The Nanny” aired on CBS in 1993, with the sixth and final season airing in 1999.

Fran Drescher commented in 2023 that she was working with Sony to create a revival of the series.

“We were in talks with Sony, our parent company, to figure out what we could do that would be fun and exciting for fans to watch,” said Drescher before the series’ 30th anniversary.

“We don’t know exactly yet, but we have a lot of options on the table, and we’re open to all of them,” added Fran Drescher.
