Emma began to notice that Bruce Willis’ behavior toward her had suddenly changed, which at first seemed like something normal in long-term relationships.
The two married in 2009 and had two daughters, Mabel (13) and Evelyn (11). In 2020, Heming became more concerned about her husband and even confided in a friend about the situation.
She even contacted the actor’s doctor to find out the cause of the change.
“What’s going on? This is not the man I married. Something is very wrong,” she recalled thinking in her conversation with the magazine. “And I simply couldn’t understand,” she questioned herself.

“It was very difficult for me to separate what I was angry about and who I was angry with. I just wasn’t in a good mental state. And that wasn’t good for Bruce, it wasn’t good for our children,” she confessed.
In 2022, Bruce Willis was diagnosed with aphasia, a disorder that affects how someone communicates. Because of his condition, he withdrew with his family. He was later diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.
“It was like the worst of the worst. It was really a terrible moment,” Emma said. “I didn’t know you could ask for help. There’s so much guilt when you think: ‘No, I have to. This is my duty. I must,’” she revealed.
