Actor Mark Hamill considered leaving the United States after Donald Trump’s reelection, but his wife made him change his mind with a simple question.
The 73-year-old actor revealed to The Times that right after Trump was reelected president, he offered York two options: move to London or to Ireland.
According to Hamill, she didn’t respond immediately but asked a question that made him reconsider his plans.

“She is very smart,” Hamill said. “She didn’t answer right away, but a week later she said: ‘I’m surprised that you allowed him to chase you out of your own country,’” he recalled. “I thought: ‘I’m not leaving.’”
If the actor, a fierce critic of Trump, had decided to leave the US, he wouldn’t have been the first. Since the reelection of the American president, celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres and Rosie O’Donnell have already left the country to live in Europe.
