Netflix released on Wednesday (30) the series “Conversations with a Killer: The Son of Sam Tapes,” which brings revealing audio recordings about the murders committed by the serial killer known as “Son of Sam.”
David Berkowitz, popularly known as “Son of Sam,” was a serial killer who killed six people in New York in the 1970s, sparking a major police manhunt.
In “Conversations with a Killer,” Netflix brought to light a series of tapes from a conversation a journalist had with Berkowitz, who was arrested in 1977 and sentenced to life imprisonment for his crimes.
The recordings were made in 1980 by a journalist named Jack Jones and were recently discovered.

In the documentary’s introduction, Jones revealed that he only interviewed the killer after receiving a personal letter from Berkowitz.
In the recordings shown in the very first episode, Berkowitz states that although people hate him, he “hopes they are open-minded.” David Berkowitz is still serving his sentence in prison.
The director of “Conversations with a Killer,” Joe Berlinger, said in an interview with Netflix’s Tudum website that the tapes “reveal disturbing concerns of his mind.”
“Conversations with a Killer: The Son of Sam Tapes” is now available on the Netflix platform.
